Timo Chinala

Timo Chinala is an electronic music producer from Prekmurje, the north-eastern region of Slovenia, and is listed as based in Murska Sobota. The Music Slovenia database describes him as a producer from the region who stayed out of the spotlight for many years while building genre-diverse productions that run from minimal and techno to newer derivatives of contemporary dance music.

His production career became more serious after he won a competition run by Richie Hawtin; his remix was released on Hawtin's MINUS label and distributed through stores such as Beatport and Juno, according to the same biography. Details of the exact release and year were not confirmed in the sources opened. Streaming-data profile pages describe his sound as house-oriented, built on rhythmic grooves, synth melodies and strong basslines, and the Berlin label Nie Wieder Schlafen tags his work as melodic, organic and deep house.

Between 2015 and 2017 he released a run of EPs on Soundhitectures, the Ljubljana label: Namaste EP (15 June 2015), Forgotten Realms EP (11 July 2016), As Ever (2 February 2017) and Lights (15 June 2017), alongside appearances on the label's Circumstance and Consistency compilations. These dates are as supplied by the label.

From 2019 his catalogue moved toward Berlin's Nie Wieder Schlafen. The Ykno EP (21 October 2019) contains the originals Ykno and Somerville plus a remix by Jayden Klight. Circle of Life (23 March 2020) is described by the label as his third release there and explores a slower, emotional sound between uplifting and melancholic. It was remixed by trustless & Konchord, Fulltone and Andrew Case, and mastered by Robert Trifunovic.

His debut album Dreamscape followed on 11 December 2020 on Laut & Luise, the Berlin and Cologne based Music Lovers Club, which releases carefully selected music on vinyl. It has eight tracks including Golden, Soft Hours, Zugzwang and Everything Flows, and a vinyl edition is catalogued as LIL011. Viberate also lists the 2021 remix Rad (Haider Uppal and Timo Chinala Dub Mix), and collaborations or remix work with Powel, Fulltone, Zusammenklang and Konchord. It also notes performances at Klub K4 in Ljubljana.

Recent activity: he is confirmed on the line-up of the NINDRI INDRI festival in the castle courtyard of Murska Sobota, Slovenia, on Friday 22 August 2025, where he is billed as a domestic electronic explorer in the opening-night programme. No new releases of his dated 2025 or 2026 could be verified. Several titles circulating for those years (What About Love, Sidelines, Unlimited Dreams Corporation, Music Lovers Club #007) appear in the Laut & Luise catalogue but are credited to other artists or to various artists, so they are not attributed to him here. Apart from the August 2025 festival appearance, no recent public activity was found as of October 2026.
