Placid One is a Belgian producer based in Ciney, working with synthesizers and drum machines. His sound moves between breakbeat, acid, electro and techno, with a hardware aesthetic that nods to early British pioneers, and echoes of Aphex Twin, Orbital and Kirk Degiorgio.
B4 You EP (27 February 2017) is his release on Soundhitectures: three tracks, B4 You, Analog Escape and 711, tagged acid, breaks and melancholia. The label describes it as a mature combination of beats, synths and atmosphere, with long dreamy pads, keys and unobtrusive bass lines, analog, warm and slightly distant yet driving. A premiere of 711 ran on SoundCloud through Insert.
Elsewhere he released the C Balloon EP on Ransom Note Records (July 2017, a limited 12-inch with remixes by Cass. and Timothy 'Heretic' Clerkin) and Hourglass on Nebulae Records, and has a track on Gestalt Records.
