Gloved Hands

Gloved Hands is a solo music project based in California, listed on Bandcamp as Los Angeles. It began as a home-produced house and techno project, and the label text for its release on Soundhitectures describes the artist as a California-based musician relatively new to house and techno production but no stranger to making music.

The project's own release list on glovedhands.org starts in late 2018 and tracks a wide stylistic arc. Early work is dance-floor oriented: the debut Signal Flare EP (27 July 2018, Sound Transitions, a Washington-based label) offers six tracks the label calls equally suited to the dance floor and the bedroom, with warbling pads, fluid melodies and nostalgic samples, tagged across house, techno, jungle and lo-fi.

Soundhitectures released the Western Fence EP on 17 August 2018, with the tracks Say Things, That Can't Be, Making Me Laugh and Ice Cream. The project's own Bandcamp and website do not list it, so it is included here on the label's confirmation. Because it dates from 2018, the project is described as active since at least 2018, even though some press text places the start shortly before the Covid pandemic.

Further releases followed: a track on the INEX005 compilation (Inhale Exhale, 9 November 2018), A Great Long Pause (Night Young, 12 July 2019), a track on Night Young International Vol. 1 (13 March 2020), Trapped In Community Foam (Housewax, 26 April 2021), a track on Velvet Series No. 2 (Flexi Cuts, 15 June 2021), Empty Terminal (La Luna, 1 July 2022), and compilation tracks on LYAM Cuts-1 (Last Year At Marienbad, 12 July 2023) and Finding Bliss In The Madness (La Luna, 10 January 2025). On 29 April 2022 The Flenser issued the tape Game Changers by Hand Model, with all music produced by Gloved Hands.

In 2025 and 2026 the project turned toward songwriting. Drugstore Idiots came out on Business Casual on 13 June 2025. Tempers followed on the Phantom Limb label on 20 February 2026, five tracks (Plants In A Bathtub, Birthday Cake, To Be Made Tolerable, Secrets About Me, Eye Level) mastered by Ignat Frege. It is described as industrial, new wave, goth and noise pop with fuzzed 808s and confessional hooks, and as the first Gloved Hands record centred on songwriting.

The artist's other projects include Hand Model, with ties to The Flenser and Kompakt according to the label bio. On 27 March 2026, Chudo Pustih Ruk, a four-track EP made with Hand Model and drawing on post-Soviet 1990s aesthetics, thrift-store drum machines and forgotten synthesizers, was released on Dumb Edge, with a seven-inch vinyl edition. No live dates or press reviews were found on the project's site, and the 2025-2026 releases are the latest public activity found as of October 2026.
