Evident is a DJ, producer and curator based in Ljubljana, Slovenia, working across house, techno and electronica. He has lived in the Slovenian capital since 2012. He came to electronic music as a teenager, starting with trance and harder techno before moving through classic house, deep house, dub and minimal. By his own account, the discovery of Trentemøller and later Nicolas Jaar's slow, organic approach were turning points.
His first DJ set took place in 2012 at an Innocent Music showcase in Ljubljana, on a Friday the 13th. In the following years he played at Klub K4 in Ljubljana, where he held a monthly residency with Alex Ranerro, as well as the Rog factory, Sound City Festival in Liverpool and club 20/44 in Belgrade. He has shared line-ups with names including Richard Davis, Jan Blomqvist, Avatism, Youandme, Fred P, Mike Servito and Johannes Heil.
Evident describes his signature as combining seemingly unmixable elements and following instinct. He prefers subtlety, momentary feelings, surprises and coincidences over a fixed formula, and says he has no single direction in club music. Self-taught as a producer, he has said the hardest part is training your ears, and that failing often and then doing it better is the best way to learn. He favours fast decisions and a quick workflow so that tracks do not stall.
In an April 2017 interview he described a deliberately minimal live setup: a MacBook Pro and audio interface at the centre, with a connected drum machine and synthesizer, microphone inputs and internal processing. His stated aim is to achieve the most with as little equipment as possible.
Soundhitectures was started by Evident in October 2014, as a way out of what he called a depressing and boring tech-house box. The label releases diverse electronic music, with a roster of mainly Slovenian producers plus artists from Belgrade and Detroit. Its Bandcamp catalogue includes records by Timo Chinala, Jan Nemecek, Paoli, Placid One, Christian Kroupa, Donev, Gloved Hands, and the aliases Lustful Truth and re_balance, along with the compilations Coincidence, Circumstance and Consistency. Circumstance, from November 2015, was the label's second compilation and its sixth release overall. Evident also co-founded SolvdMag, which covers electronic music in the Balkans.
His own releases began on the label with remixes and singles and reached a first album, Mysteries We Don't Have Time To Think About, in early 2017, produced mainly in January and February of that year. A free download of 'Never' was published by XLR8R on 7 February 2019. Later releases include the Play With Fire EP, Get Stronger on Soundhitectures, and the Perpetual EP, which came out on Magnetik Music on 9 October 2020. In May 2025 he released a remix of Futurski's 'Bad Dreams', which was covered by Electronic Groove.
His website lists a mix series, EvidentMix, with three entries so far: 001 'Wake Me Up' (November 2025, dub-tech and deep-tech), 002 'Trance Disguised as House' with Maja Panini (December 2025), and 003 'Luminous Flow' (March 2026). Earlier, he made the Flows 014 podcast mix for Sinergia in November 2022 and an EGLO.014 mixtape for Electronic Groove.
On the live side, his website lists Flows Festival in Croatia in 2023, 2024 and 2025, Butik Festival in Slovenia in 2019, and boat parties on the Ljubljanica river. He plays regularly b2b with Maja Panini and is connected to the Sinergia collective. A feature on Slovenian national radio VAL202 is listed for June 2025.
For 2026 his site lists Electronic Brunch (Sinergia x NeuBar, Ljubljana, February), BoatBeats (SiNode, Ljubljana, May), Flows Festival in Croatia, GUARDIANS Festival in August and LUMERA Festival in September, alongside the March 2026 EvidentMix003.
